FAQs

How do you bill for your services? Our standard billing procedure is to bill monthly. Each staff person has an individual billing rate that is charged per hour. Monthly invoices are created based on which staff person is working on the engagement and time spent. We require payment upon receipt.

What hours are you available? We are available during normal business hours, which are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Thursday and Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm with extended hours during tax season (Jan 1st through April 30th). We would be happy to make special arrangements for evening or weekend consultations.

What role do you play if the IRS audits me? We generally request that our clients execute a Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative (Form 2848). Then we will consult with the IRS directly to resolve any dispute. Our normal hourly rates would be applicable.

How much and what kind of preparation do you need for my return? Each year, our clients receive an annual Tax Organizer which summarizes the prior year activity. This provides a great tool for our clients to gather and summarize their individual tax data. In addition, we request that our clients provide most of the original source data in order that we may verify certain dividend, wage or other tax data and insure that the proper amounts are being used on the tax return. If your tax return includes a business or rental activity, we prefer that your materials be in a computer accounting program, but we have taken materials in almost every imaginable form. Contact us with questions about specific software packages.
